Make My Monday In the Garden

The weeks are really going by much too fast! It seems to be no time since the last Make My Monday challenge and it's already time for a new one! This time Caz has chosen "In the Garden"

I used a freebie stamp set and embossing folder. I was very tempted to leave the embossed panel white as it was a really crisp image. But decided to ink it and hopefully give it a summery feel, especially as it was very damp and grey while I was making it. I sponged DI Mustard seed all over it, then daubed some Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint on the flowers and leaves. The sentiment and beed were stamped in  Versafine Onyx Black. A black mat and some green twine finished it off.

Cardz 4 Galz

The theme at Cardz 4 Galz is black and white + one bright colour. This gave me the perfect chance to use some of the new release stamps from Happy Little Stampers.

I stamped the dandelions and sentiment  in Versafine Onyz Black. Then added colour with a stamp from a SSS set. The white background looked a little too stark so I dug out my spritzing tool and spritzed  black and yellow markers over it. A narrow black mat completed the card.

Have a Blast!

Welcome back to the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz.This time the theme is Travel/Transport.

It took me quite a while to decide what to do for this, even though it is not a difficult one. In the end I went with a stamp that was a magazine freebie some time ago. I coloured it with Distress markers then sponged the sky around it. Although it doesn't show in the photo the black strips are glitter strips and the black edge to the image panel is done with black Wink of Stella.

I used the HLS stamp set I received back at the retreat last year - Christmas Joy. I can see this becoming one of my go to stamp sets. I randomly stamped the holly all over a piece of white card and coloured it with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I do struggle to get them very sparkly though. I mounted it onto a red card blank,as I think I need to get away from always using white ones, and I have a lot of coloured cardstock! The sentiment is from the same set. A couple of little jewels to break up the white and I was done. 

Things with Wings!

WhileI was moving my craft room I came across a box containing lots of decoupage sheets bought many moons ago! I'm sure I'll never use all of them but this one of a kingfisher has made it onto a card! And it fits in well with the new challenge at Make My Monday which is Things with Wings.

I have to say cutting round the branches was incredibly fiddly! If I had to do it again, I think I would just cut the bird out.

I decided to use a new stencil from UNIKO that arrived just as my craft room became unusable with the Brushos that i'd eventually found after putting them in a "safe place".

I sprinkled rainbow colours over the stencil and spritzed liberally with water. I did use all the rainbow colours apart from indigo, but unfortunately the vellum is hiding the green and yellow!

Buttons and Bows!

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Buttons and/or Bows. So I've made a nice easy card and used up some pretty papers too. Not that it's reduced the mountain much, think I'd need to make hundreds if not thousands to do that!

Superheroes at Cardz 4 Guyz

Well we still have lots of unpacking and things to put awaybut we are slowly getting there. Trying to get the contents of two houses into one is a nightmare. The charity shops are doing very well out of us. The craft room is sorted enough for me to be able to use it, the challenge being finding the things I want to use! It was really enjoyable being able to spend a day doing DT cards - I have missed being able to play.

Anyway the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz is Superheroes which taxed me a bit as I had nothing suitable to use, so went searching for a digistamp and found this one at Dr Digi's.

I know I've used  Superman colours when he's really based on Batman, but I'm calling it artistic licence! Do hope you can join in!

Easter Fun

It is my turn to choose the theme at Make My Monday and I went for Easter Fun. My craft room is still in a state of chaos but I have got the laptop and printer set up now. So I went for a digital creation.

I used Craft Artist and some of their digikits to make this card.Such a shame that it is no longer available.

I made this in a bit of a rush to fit round the builders finishing and having new carpets laid. I knew that as soon as that happened I wasn't going to be be able to do any crafting as I would be too busy moving things from room to room to accomodate the carpet fitters! I have used a freebie die from a couple of years ago, for the main image. The snowflakes are a Tim Holtz set.  The white glitter card was out of my scrap box. I stamped the sentiment from HLS Christmas Joy in White then heat embossed it with some WOW embossing powder.

I hope by next month's challenge that I will be back in the house, in my new craft room and things will at long last be back to normal.
